wow...that's fascinating. i think it would be a smart play. she has gotten people involved with public education who never would have taken part before, and that's v. in line with the obama strategy. also, it's interesting that joel klein is out of the running. we interviewed him for roadtrip nation (as well as kopp), and i thought he was really impressive and surprisingly warm. obviously his take on improving education in america is tooootally different and not necessarily suited for this role in this administration, but it makes me happy that he was initially a consideration too.
